Spring!!!

Hello!
This week has been some of the weirdest rainstorms of my life. It goes from beautiful spring day to torrential rainstorm about ever 15 minutes. Haha it is just bizarre. We started off the week with intercambios. It was great hanging out with Hermana Forsyth and getting all the March Madness updates!
If you remember weve been teaching some Gallegos and one of them Fran, who has just been ridiculously prepared is working on quiting smoking now so he can get baptized next month. He has had some really special experiences and just knows the church is true and is so incredibly dedicated to preparing himself to join! Its kinda surreal how awesome he is and I can't believe I get to be apart of this!
This week we got to teach his daughter for the first time, she is 17 and man, I feel like I just get her, I absolutely loved teaching her because in a weird was I felt like I got to teach the Spanish nonmember version of myself. It was a really great lesson, it was fun to just look someone in the eye and say, look I get it, there are answers you need and I promise you'll get them. I learned this week alot about the way God uses us to do his work. He needs diversity, he needs our unique talents and personality, he doesn't need us all to fit the same mold, there is no better feeling than being real genuine with people, taking to them like your friends but at the same time feeling that the spirit gives you what they need. God works through our diversity to reach all of his children. It's the miracle of the mission.

Yesterday we were able to have a lesson with a really special family. I met the mom Fernanda on the bus about a month ago and we have been helping the daughter with English and everything just slowly trying to teach them. Anyways last night we had an amazing experience and we're able to teach their family. Fernanda is incredible, this may sound a little dramatic but I think knowing her has changed me a little bit. I really feel so blessed to have met her. She opened up to us big time last night. I think she is an example of the scripture that there are some who are kept from the truth only because they know not where to find it. If nothing else even comes of this I feel so privileged to have sat down with someone I really admire and to teach her how to pray to her father and to ask for the answers that she so desperately needs. It was a beautiful experience.

Anyways. I sure love this place. I just absolutely love these people. I could write a book about all of them, haha needless to say I have a lot of journal writing to do today. I feel very blessed for the friends I've made here and the chance I have to feel I little bit of what God feels for them. God loves His children.. I'll tell you what!

Love you,
Hermana Simmons

Hi! 3-19-18

Hello! This week was crazy! We spent the first half in Madrid. We got to go to the temple

which was so great and then we played soccer for about 4 hours. I taught the mission the chair game, haha too fun! We were able to listen to Elder Sabin for a day. I loved it. He just had a way a putting everything in perspective. Stretch but don't stress. It was so great!

Then we flew back to the north and ran around like crazy for 2 days getting everything ready for the baptism!
It was so great! Stephany was just so happy! I'm so excited because this really is what she needs to be able to keep moving forward spiritually. Sunday morning she didn't show up for church and she had to be confirmed so we jumped in the car with a member a snagged her. I guess she woke up just dying sick! Haha it was a close call but we got her to church at it all worked out!

Then we actually took off to Vigo and that's where I'm at now. So we weren't in our area hardly at all this week!
Today we went to another castle on the coast. It was so beautiful. The boat actually is a replica of the one Christopher Columbus took because that was the very port that he left from to sail to the America's! It was kinda a cool piece of history there!

Anyways, it was a week of a lot of learning. I'm excited to apply what I've learned and get back to work! Love you all!

Best Week Ever 3-12-18

Hi

Don't worry the rain came back.
It was a great week here, we stayed pretty busy.
So our investigator Fianmy who we had been working with and starting to see progress in was induced into the hospital this week. So we visited her every day for a few minutes and we had some pretty incredible experiences. First off we talked about life, food, family, taught her to play uno, and we also had some really great lessons.
She has such an ability to feel the spirit and its been incredible. She also had alot of time to read the book of Mormon and is really seeking to know if this is all true. Every time we meet her testimony has grown a bit more. I think she knows we are just trying to help her realize she knows. Her and I really get along. Definitely going to be friends for life. I just really feel she's going to accept this and even if it's not now she'll get there. I 10000000 percent saw the Lords hand this week, we really saw miracles. This is the Lords work and these are his children!

You know things are funny. This week whenever I felt annoyed or frustrated with things I tried just thinking to myself This isn't about me.. And it really helped me. Haha can't do the Lords work my way.. Just doesn't work out that way.
It's amazing the way God will let you see his hand in things if you are willing to get out of the way. I'm working on that still! ðŸ˜„

Other than that I don't really know what to say... Things are good, next week I'm going to Madrid because a 70 is visiting the mission. We taught a lesson in English this week.. That was weird. My hair is getting long already.. I have more acne than I've had in my life, but it's only fair you can't be tooo good looking as a sister missionary. I don't get as bus sick as I used to ...so yeah! Things are good!

Love you all!

1. Always happy.. Always raining

2. My favorite street

3. My favorite old man

4. Celebratory treat because Stefanys parents finally gave her permission to be baptized! Long over due! She's almost done with personal progress! Haha

2-26-18

Sorry I got real lazy today with typing! But yeah all is well!  My district was switched up big time last transfer and wow...haha lots of 18 year old Elders!  But it's fun, it was such a sunny beautiful day today.

We went to a lighthouse today that the Romans built! Kinda cool!

And this is Suhaila, she's a cutie but makes lessons a real adventure!
